Short answer: StubHub International is the name TourTicketCompare gives to one of its resale ticket links. Its button opens StubHub's international site, currently on the stubhub.ie domain, even when the show itself is in the United States, Canada or the UK. It is a real StubHub event page for the exact date. It is not the same site as stubhub.com, and TourTicketCompare doesn't link to stubhub.com at all.

That surprises people, so this guide covers why the address looks the way it does, what the price on the button means, and what to check before you buy: mainly currency, fees and the order terms.

Why the button opens stubhub.ie

StubHub runs more than one website. The one this site links to is StubHub's international marketplace, and every StubHub International link here currently points to a stubhub.ie event page. That includes most of the US and Canadian dates that carry the button, not only European ones.

The address being Irish doesn't mean the tickets are for a different show. Each StubHub International button only goes up once its destination has been matched to the exact event, the same check every other button gets. Before you buy, confirm the artist, date, venue and city on the StubHub page itself.

StubHub International is not stubhub.com

StubHub's own support site explains that stubhub.com and stubhub.ca are StubHub North America, while the StubHub sites in the UK, Ireland and much of Europe belong to StubHub International, a separately owned business, and accounts don't carry over between the two. TourTicketCompare's StubHub International link and StubHub's US site are separate. The site doesn't link to stubhub.com, and a StubHub International button says nothing about what stubhub.com shows for the same date. Listings, prices and the currency on the two sites can differ.

What the price on the button means

When the StubHub International feed supplies one, its button shows StubHub International's lowest listed price for that date and how long ago it was checked. Prices are checked every few hours and drop off once they are 24 hours old.

The listed price is a starting point, not a checkout total:

  • Currency. The price is shown in the currency the feed reports, which may not be the currency your card uses. Your bank may add a conversion or foreign-transaction charge on top.
  • Fees and tax. A listed price may leave out fees or tax that the ticket site shows at checkout. The note under the buttons says so.
  • Availability. A listed price doesn't mean that ticket is still there when you open the page.

Where two ticket sites that supply prices cover the same date in the same currency, the site shows their listed prices side by side.

Fees, currency and your total

US federal rules require live-event ticket sellers to include mandatory fees in the price they first show, with taxes, shipping and optional extras allowed to appear separately if disclosed before payment. Display rules can differ outside the United States, and an international site may show its totals differently from a US one.

So compare the order summary, not the first figure. On the StubHub page, check:

  • The currency of the total, and whether your card will convert it.
  • The final amount after fees, tax and delivery.
  • The number of tickets and whether the seats are together.
  • The section, row and any view notes.
  • The delivery method and the date the tickets should arrive.

Delivery and protection

A resale ticket bought on StubHub's international site is usually transferred from the seller, and for a Ticketmaster-issued show it may arrive in a Ticketmaster account. Read the delivery estimate on the listing before you pay.

StubHub publishes its own buyer-protection, delivery, refund and dispute terms for its international site. Read the current version for your order. TourTicketCompare doesn't vet individual StubHub sellers or administer StubHub's terms.

Staying safe

Because stubhub.ie is an unfamiliar address to many buyers, it's worth being careful that you're on the real site:

  • Open StubHub from the button or by typing the domain yourself, not from a link in a message.
