Primary tickets and resale tickets explain most differences
Primary inventory comes through a channel authorised by the event organiser. Resale inventory appears after an original purchase and is priced by the seller under the marketplace's rules. Ticketmaster's current help content says its resale tickets are clearly labelled and can be listed above or below face value. SeatGeek's explanation of the secondary market says it is both the primary platform for some leagues and venues and a marketplace for resold tickets.

Fees and the final amount payable
US rules require mandatory live-event ticket fees to be included in the upfront total, while taxes, shipping, and optional extras may still be treated separately.
